United were fired ahead in the early stages of the game by 23-year-old Melvine Malard, after Spurs had previously gone close through Matilda Vinberg. Spurs continued to threaten throughout the first half despite going 1-0 down, as Jessica Naz threaded a ball to Vinberg who put her effort just wide once again.
It was a threat that would eventually pay off as the game was turned on its head as it passed the half hour mark. Bethany England levelled the scoreline, before Vinberg and Naz linked up once again just seconds later to fire the London team ahead.
A deserved lead for Robert Vilahamn's side, who responded well to conceding early. Naz was a bright spark throughout the first half and took her chance nicely, after creating space from her defender and slotting the shot past the reach Mary Earps.
United made a flurry of changes in an attempt to drag themselves back into the game just after half-time. Despite this, the second 45-minutes were considerably less eventful than the first. The hosts pushed for an equaliser but apart from seeing Lisa Naalsund's effort tipped on to the bar, they failed to carve out any meaningful goalscoring opportunities.
The game slowly, but surely, looked as if it was drifting away from Marc Skinner's side until Maya Le Tissier netted a late equaliser in the 93rd minute.

United are unbeaten in their last 10 WSL meetings with Tottenham, winning eight of these fixtures and drawing two. They also kept six clean sheets during this time.

Spurs needed someone to grab hold of the game after going 1-0 down, which is exactly what Naz did. After previously creating a chance for Vinberg that went wide, she was rewarded with a chance of her own shortly after. Naz fired Spurs ahead with the well-taken goal but her performance spanned far wider than just this effort. It was good time to get just her second goal of the WSL season.

England shot-stopper Mary Earps will likely be disappointed with conceding two quick-fire goals in the first half. She faced just two shots on target at Leigh Sports Village and let both of them in. An afternoon Earps will want to forget sooner rather than later, considering the standards the Lionesses star will hold herself to.
