Lots of Everton fans have been lauding Abdoulaye Doucoure as Telefoot Chaine (via The Toffee Blues) have reported that the Watford ace has rejected offers from the Merseyside club’s fellow Premier League rivals in Wolverhampton Wanderers and Fulham as well as German team Hertha Berlin.
As per the outlet, Doucoure would like to sign for the Toffees and work with Carlo Ancelotti in the new 2020/21 season.
Indeed, the central midfield player is a man that the Blues have reportedly been targeting throughout the summer transfer window, and it looks as if he will sign if EFC can match the asking price of the Hornets.
Comparing the stats of the 27-year old to Fabian Delph, Tom Davies and Andre Gomes in the Premier League in the 2019/20 season, Doucoure averaged the most tackles, shots and key passes per game, according to Whoscored.
The Frenchman would arguably be an upgrade on the current midfield options at Goodison Park, and so it is perhaps not a surprise that these supporters lauded the news on Twitter, with one fan even branding Doucoure as ‘excellent’:
