Liverpool have issued an update about the England international's condition, with club doctor Amelia Woodhouse saying: "Gemma lost consciousness temporarily and suffered a facial laceration during the incident. After treatment she was able to walk off the pitch with the assistance of medical staff and taken into the medical room at Leigh for further assessment. She was attended to by the doctor and received a number of stitches around her lip for the laceration. She is now following concussion protocols under the supervision of the club medical team."

Bonner has been a key player for the Anfield club this season, making 10 WSL appearances and scoring one goal. Liverpool are now on a three-game unbeaten run in the English league and Sunday's win leaves them in fifth place, seven points behind leaders Chelsea.
